Meet Dr. Chance Smith, DO

General Surgeon

Dr. Chance Smith approaches every patient with the same care and attention he would give his own family. By tailoring his approach to each individual’s specific goals and utilizing evidence-based medicine, he strives to help patients navigate difficult situations, whether it’s a trauma, a cancer diagnosis, or an emergency visit.

As a General Surgeon, Dr. Smith practices a wide breadth of surgery, including trauma care. He is a leader in robotic surgery, currently serving as the highest producer of minimally invasive procedures in the area on the DaVinci Robotics platform. He specializes in complex robotic surgeries, including colon resections, hiatal hernia repairs, anti-reflux surgeries, and abdominal wall reconstructions. He also has a deep personal passion for treating breast cancer.

Originally from Idaho Falls, Dr. Smith loves spending his time away from the hospital in the Idaho outdoors. He and his wife enjoy hiking, snowmobiling, and boating in Island Park and Jackson with their two dogs.
